Fiber Optic Cabling

Multi-mode and single-mode fiber — cleanroom-grade fusion splicing with LC, ST, SC, FC and MPO connectors.

For high-speed uplinks, backbones and data centre environments, fiber carries the load. We install multi-mode and single-mode optical fiber with cleanroom-grade preparation — precision stripping, 99% isopropyl alcohol decontamination and 90° diamond cleaving — then fusion-splice core to core for permanent, low-loss glass welds, with slack managed inside rack-mount LIUs.

What we deliver

  • Multi-mode and single-mode fiber
  • Cleanroom-grade preparation and 90° diamond cleaving
  • Core-to-core fusion splicing
  • LC, ST, SC, FC and MPO connectors
  • Slack management in rack-mount LIUs
  • Tier 1 and Tier 2 tested on completion

A good fit for

High-speed uplinks, backbones between floors and buildings, data centre links and runs too long or too demanding for copper.

How we approach the work

We choose multi-mode or single-mode fiber to suit the distance and capacity, and plan routes and LIU positions. Every core is precision-stripped, decontaminated with 99% isopropyl alcohol and diamond-cleaved at 90°, then aligned core to core in an arc fusion splicer. Slack is organised in rack-mount LIUs to avoid tight macrobends, and every link is tested with an OLTS and an OTDR.

Planning guide

Fiber backbone installation, splicing and testing

Fiber links equipment rooms, floors and buildings over distances and capacities copper can't reach. Multi-mode suits shorter in-building backbones, while single-mode is used for longer runs. A fusion splice is a permanent glass weld — its quality depends on clean preparation and a precise cleave.

When this service helps

Consider fiber for high-speed uplinks, comms rooms on different floors, buildings on a campus, data centre links or an overloaded copper backbone.

What to include in the scope

  • Map the endpoints, distances, routes and the capacity each link must carry.
  • Agree the fiber type, core count, connectors (LC, ST, SC, FC or MPO) and LIU positions.
  • Prepare, fusion-splice and terminate every core, manage slack in the LIU, then test with an OLTS and an OTDR.
What to prepare
Share building plans, the locations of comms rooms and racks, existing duct or containment routes and the equipment the fiber will connect.
What you receive at handover
Labelled LIUs and cores, route drawings, core allocation records, OLTS loss readings and OTDR traces for every link.
What affects the quote
Route length, the number of cores and splices, connector types, containment and access between buildings shape the quote.

Every project proposal confirms the deliverables, bill of materials, acceptance tests and support commitments in writing.
