Voice Cabling

Single-pair to multi-pair telephone cabling, terminated on IDC strips or by gun wrapping.

Voice systems still depend on well-built copper. We install telephone infrastructure from single-pair extension runs to multi-pair backbone cables, and terminate it by gun wrapping (wire-wrap) or on IDC strips — numbered and recorded, so every extension can be traced and changed without guesswork.

What we deliver

  • Single-pair extension cabling
  • Multi-pair telephone backbones
  • Gun wrapping (wire-wrap) terminations
  • IDC strip terminations
  • Pair numbering and frame records
  • Moves and changes to existing voice wiring

A good fit for

Offices with desk phones or intercom systems, buildings with multi-pair telephone backbones and sites upgrading old voice wiring.

How we approach the work

We plan the voice layout from the frame outward — single-pair runs to each extension and multi-pair cables between floors — then terminate on IDC strips or by gun wrapping (wire-wrap), as the system requires. Every pair is numbered and recorded, so extensions can be traced and changed quickly.

Planning guide

Telephone and voice cabling

Voice cabling connects desk phones and extensions back to the telephone frame. Single-pair cables serve individual extensions, while multi-pair cables carry many lines between floors and frames. Terminations are made on IDC strips or by gun wrapping (wire-wrap), depending on the system.

When this service helps

Useful when installing a new phone system, adding extensions, rearranging an office or tidying an old, undocumented telephone frame.

What to include in the scope

  • Review the number of extensions, frame and outlet locations and the existing voice wiring.
  • Plan single-pair runs, multi-pair backbones and the termination method at each frame.
  • Install, terminate and number every pair, check each extension and update the frame records.
What to prepare
Provide the extension list, phone system details, frame locations and any existing pair records or numbering.
What you receive at handover
Numbered pairs and terminations, frame and extension records, and layout drawings for future moves and changes.
What affects the quote
The number of extensions and pairs, cable lengths, termination method and any work on live systems shape the quote.

Every project proposal confirms the deliverables, bill of materials, acceptance tests and support commitments in writing.
